WORKSHOP 2

Creating stories out of thin air!

Building stories and friendships at the Hobo's latest workshop: (l-r) Bernice, Renee, Elly, Charmaine, Ron and Graham.

Six fabulous participants gathered for the second workshop in the Hobo's Improvs and Imagination series at Maldon Neighbourhood Centre in late March.

The workshop explored a theme of 'Building stories through images and improvisation' and proved to be a winner. Participants told tall tales and true using paintings, photographs, cards, pictures from newspapers and magazines plus digital images.

They created visual storyboards to guide them, then improvised scenes to bring the emerging story to life. Two excellent short plays followed, each with a beginning, middle and end.

Participants provided feedback and revealed their personal stories during a post-performance reflection.

With writers, actors and, as we discovered, an incredibly talented artist (Ron, your drawings are amazing!) attending this workshop, it was wonderful to see the power of creativity, story-making and storytelling is alive and well!
